Ziegler Group has launched its first fully electric heavy-duty truck, marking an important step in our Now Even Greener strategy. This initiative reflects our long-term commitment to lowering carbon emissions and integrating sustainable technology into our logistics operations.
Our new electric truck represents more than a simple fleet upgrade – it’s a significant move towards greener logistics.
Key features include:
This project demonstrates that sustainability and performance can work together – both technically and economically.
The truck is already in service at our Zaventem site near Brussels Airport, where it is used for regular air freight collections and deliveries across the region.
To support the vehicle, we have installed a 43 kW on-site charging station, enabling full overnight charging. Daytime top-ups will generally not be needed.
Switching to electric enables an estimated 70% reduction in CO₂ emissions per kilometre compared with a diesel equivalent, based on Belgium’s current energy mix. This is a key component of our broader environmental responsibility efforts.
The truck is fitted with on-board telematics to monitor range, energy usage, route data, and performance in real time. Drivers have also received training in regenerative braking techniques to help extend range and improve efficiency.
This launch sends a strong signal of Ziegler’s forward-thinking approach to logistics. Our investment in responsible, future-ready solutions is designed to move goods efficiently while driving positive change within the industry.
We extend our sincere thanks to all the teams whose hard work made this project possible, and we acknowledge the valued support of the Flemish Region through the Ecologiepremie+ programme, which promotes green investment.
